This acquires the name of the dominant element present in the material, such as potassium, calcium, sodium and aluminium. Thus, if the content of calcium is more it is, then, called calcium bentonite. The material is mainly used as drilling mud, foundry-sand bond in steel foundries, absorbent, purifier and groundwater barrier.
