Product Description
Dolomite is commonly found in depositsof a sedimentary rock called dolostone. There are two types of materials oftencalled dolomite, a true chemically uniform calcium magnesium carbonate and adolomitic limestone, which is just an irregular mixture of calcium andmagnesium carbonates.
It is used incertain industries, such as the iron and steel-making industries, as arefractory and also as a flux. Dolomite is burnt, hardened and then made intosmall pellets and heated again. These pellets of dolomite are then used in themanufacture of blocks of dolomite refractory. Calcined dolomite with added ironoxide is used to repair the inner linings of furnaces. It is crushed into afine powder is used for agricultural purposes (it reducesthe acidity of the soil), and in the filler-making industry.
